Consider painting your bathroom walls a new color or adding wallpaper for a fresh look
If you're looking to give your bathroom a fresh, new look, why not consider something as simple as painting the walls or adding wallpaper? Not only does it instantly transform the space without costing much, but it's also an easy and relatively low-commitment way to give your washroom a makeover. With colors like trendy chartreuse, lavender, navy blue, and peach now being popular for bathrooms, there's a choice for everyone; and if you can't decide just yet what colors would look best in your bathroom space, then opting for wallpaper is a great way to gradually add dimension while adding personality.

Replace your old shower curtain with a new, stylish one
If you're tired of your out-of-date shower curtain, it may be time to switch it out for something new. Investing in a stylish and modernized shower curtain can make all the difference in your bathroom. Not only will you love the look, but also many newer models feature increased water resistance, allowing for less drips and spills outside of the shower when coming into contact with your bathroom rug or floor. Have some fun with it and choose something that is personalized to match your individual style!
Â
Add some new towels and bath mats to the bathroom
To complete the bathroom upgrade, why not add some new towels and bath mats? Not only will they bring a more polished look to your room, but also provide you with more comfort when it comes to drying off after a shower or bath. When selecting new towels and mats, it’s important to consider the quality of the fabrics - like those made of cotton or bamboo - as well as their durability, absorbency and softness. You should also pay attention to their color palette and design; choose something that coordinates with your wall colors and bathroom accents. To save money, consider shopping for sets which usually come at a lower cost than individual items. Don’t forget to purchase several washcloths too! Additionally, if you have enough room in your budget, you might want to invest in a heated towel rack or stand for an extra touch of luxury that will keep your towels warm and dry year-round.

Install a new sink, toilet, or vanity for a more updated look
Are you looking to update the look of your bathroom? Installing a new sink, toilet, or vanity can have a huge impact on the overall look and feel of your space. Not only will it give the room a more modern and updated look but it can also increase its functionality. Let’s take a look at what is involved in updating your bathroom with these essential pieces of hardware.Â
Â
Installing a new sinkÂ
Installing a new sink requires some basic tools such as an adjustable wrench, screwdriver, plumber's putty, and rubber sealant. You should also make sure to read through the instructions that come with the sink so that you know exactly how to install it safely and properly. Once you have all the necessary materials and instructions ready, you'll need to disconnect your old sink from any plumbing lines. Then you can begin installing your new sink by connecting it to the hot and cold water supply lines as well as any other plumbing components that need to be connected. Finally, use plumber’s putty or sealant around the edges of the sink for added protection against leaks.Â
Â
Installing a new toiletÂ
Installing a new toilet is similar to installing a new sink but it requires more steps because there are more components involved. To begin with, you'll need to disconnect your old toilet from its water supply line and remove it from its base plate before installing the new one. Next you will need to attach the tank and bowl together using screws before attaching them both to their base plate and connecting them back up to their water supply line. Finally, if applicable, attach any other components such as toilet seat covers or bidet attachments before testing out your newly installed toilet! Â

Installing a new vanity
Installing a new vanity can be a great way to update your bathroom and add aesthetic value. It can seem like a daunting task, but with the right preparation and materials, it can be done in a few simple steps. Make sure to measure the space that you plan to install the vanity so you know what size will fit best. You'll also want to get familiar with the setup process and all of the necessary components involved before doing any actual work. After gathering everything you need, simply remove any existing vanities, connect all of the plumbing, put the vanity in place, and make sure it’s secure. With some patience and attention-to-detail, installing a new vanity shouldn’t take longer than a few hours.

Purchase some new bathroom accessories, such as a toothbrush holder, soap dish, or waste bin
Adding a few thoughtful bathroom accessories can help bring your space to the next level. Consider picking up a toothbrush holder, soap dish, and waste bin to keep your countertop clutter-free. When shopping for these items, search for products that are durable and easy to clean, as well as ones that fit with your overall aesthetic. If you’re looking for something more modern, try stainless steel or glass options which offer an elevated look and timeless feel. If you prefer something more traditional in style, marble or brass would be the perfect choice. For added convenience, look for clever designs that are multi-functional such as a holder with multiple compartments for storing toothbrushes, flossers and razors. Additionally, opt for a soap dish with built-in drainage holes to prevent water from pooling on the surface while still keeping your bar of soap dry and ready-to-use. Finally, pick out a stylish waste bin that can easily blend into its surroundings – either wall mounted or free standing – so you don’t have to sacrifice aesthetics just because of functionality. With these simple touches of luxury, you'll be able to add some personality to your bathroom while also making it easier to keep tidy!
Â
Get rid of any outdated or damaged bathroom fixtures
When selecting fixtures for your bathroom, you should also keep in mind the overall look and feel you are trying to create. For example, if you are looking for an elegant and timeless finish, opt for gold accents or marble countertops. Alternatively, if you prefer a more modern style, consider incorporating sleek lines and matte black fixtures into your design. Additionally, ensure that all of the fixtures and finishes you choose are waterproof, resistant to rust and corrosion, and easy to clean. A good rule of thumb is to pick items that can withstand daily use in a damp environment as these will last longer and require less maintenance over time. Additionally, make sure to select materials that won’t fade as quickly from exposure to sunlight or heat so they remain in top condition even after extended periods of time. Finally, never underestimate the power of proper lighting! By adding dimmers or multiple light sources throughout your space, not only will it become much easier to navigate the room but a well-lit bathroom can instantly make it look larger and brighter.

My husband and I have been thinking about sprucing up our house for a while now to give it a fresher look, starting with our bathroom. We want to repaint the walls and change our flush shower heads as well as other fixtures but don't know what aesthetic we want yet. I completely agree with what you mentioned about considering the overall appearance and feel you want to achieve when choosing fixtures for your bathroom is very important. I will keep that in mind for sure, thanks.
